About the role

  • Administer and track all types of leaves (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, etc.) ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Serve as primary contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies and accommodation requests.
  • Partner with managers to support performance management during leave and return-to-work transitions, while advising on appropriate job accommodations that align with ADA requirements and organizational policies.
  • Research, analyzes data, and prepares reports as required on HR trends, applicable laws and regulations, new HR project suggestions, and current program goals and progress.
  • Manage day-to-day benefits operations including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Lead annual open enrollment process in collaboration with the Sr. HR Manager.
  • Maintain and update employee records in ADP Workforce Now Benefits Module.
  • Oversee all workers compensation claims and reporting.
  • Liaise with insurance carriers, medical providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation and compliance with OSHA and state requirements.
  • Reconcile benefits invoices and ensure accurate billing across plans.
  • Monitor compliance with HIPAA, ACA, ERISA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Prepare reports and analytics on benefits utilization, trends, and costs.
  • Serve as backup for Employee Relations matters including investigations, coaching, and documentation.
  • Provide guidance to managers on HR policies and employee concerns.
  • Leverage ADP Workforce Now to streamline workflows and improve data integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience with a strong focus on benefits, absence and leave administration, workers compensation, and employee relations.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, especially the Benefits Module.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead projects independently.
  • Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in a non-profit or healthcare environment is highly desirable.
