About the role

  • Backend Engineer developing cloud-based applications to combat wildfire crisis with cutting-edge technology for resilient forests. Engage in architecture design, implementation, and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Shaping the product architecture and playing an active role in the design process
  • Building, maintaining and up scaling the company data pipeline.
  • Maintain and develop our cloud platform.
  • Building web and mobile applications that work both on-line and off-line
  • Building and designing company data warehouse and DBs and the relationships between them
  • Owning end-to-end major components and codebases
  • Making additional contributions to other Earth Force products
  • Helping onboard and ramp up additional team members

Requirements

  • BA in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years as a backend engineer using Python
  • Demonstrable experience working on projects involving multiple DBs and microservices architecture in a Cloud environment (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Strong DevOps skills. Be able to independently install, configure and maintain different system components on bare-metal Linux machines / self managed K8S clusters.
  • 2+ years experience in cloud platform management using terraform (or equivalent) and in managing security, storage and compute in cloud environments
  • 2+ years working with Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD tools
  • Experience with system monitoring and alerting tools
  • High level verbal and written proficiency in English
