About the role

  • Own the strategy and execution of supporting Braven’s regional teams to meet their annual fundraising goals
  • Drive and own the strategy for regional fundraising to raise ~$20M in philanthropic gifts annually, creating cross-cutting strategies and defining best practices
  • Partner with regional teams to develop and activate their annual revenue strategy and project-manage quarterly action plans
  • Deeply understand the regional donor ecosystem and funding landscape; serve as strategic thought partner to regional Executive Directors and External Affairs Directors
  • Strategize with regional teams on Moves Management stages and project-manage execution of next steps
  • Partner with Executive Directors and External Affairs Directors to identify, vet, and cultivate new prospects
  • Track regional revenue progress to goal and maintain the overall weighted pipeline
  • Review grant applications and report drafts; provide critical feedback to ensure timely submission of high-quality narratives and data
  • Attend weekly regional meetings to provide strategic guidance and alignment with national fundraising goals
  • Lead creation of standardized systems for donor stewardship and craft annual regional donor narratives aligned to Braven’s strategic direction
  • Collaborate with central teams (Data, Finance, Product, Systems) and Communications to develop high-quality, standardized collateral and ensure timely inputs for grants and donor communications
  • Maintain activities, campaigns, opportunities, and account information in Salesforce and other platforms to keep regional portfolios on track
  • Implement stewardship strategies and processes to acknowledge donations in a timely and thoughtful manner
  • Act as a leader in external relationships and potentially engage directly with funders and donors; other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree
  • 3 years of work experience
  • Thrives in ambiguity and collaborates deeply with diverse teams
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex projects with cross-functional stakeholders (program, finance, data)
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to research and synthesize complex data into compelling stories
  • Expertise in Salesforce or other CRM platforms like iWave, including building and managing effective systems
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, data-driven, and curious
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft compelling narratives and strategic documents
  • Highly-developed attention to detail and strong customer-service orientation
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage large volumes of feedback
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
  • Experience working with, or for, Braven’s student Fellow population
  • Ability to work in-person in Chicago (IL) at least 3 days per week
  • Ability to travel 4-8 times annually out of state for regional team events
  • Availability for non-traditional hours occasionally (evenings or weekends) to meet grant/fundraising deadlines
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.; Braven doesn’t offer employment visa sponsorship
