About the role

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies for the WVU College of Law.
  • Collaborate with the dean, administration, faculty, staff, and campus partners to advance the College’s brand and reputation.
  • Lead storytelling and content creation across digital, print, web, and social media platforms.
  • Oversee the overhaul and maintenance of law.wvu.edu to ensure a modern and audience-focused site.
  • Lead the content strategy and writing for newsletters, speeches, event promotions, integrated campaigns, and other communications that engage alumni, donors, and the legal community.
  • Develop streamlined processes to engage WVU College of Law faculty and staff.
  • Develop strong partnerships with communicators and marketers across campus.
  • Supervise staff and student workers as necessary; manage projects from concept to completion.
  • Ensure brand consistency, compelling messaging, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct market research, analyze results, and stay up to date on industry trends to guide strategy.
  • Represent the College at events and support other Strategic Priorities initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required
  • A minimum of five (5) years of related experience required
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing strategy, concepts, and consumer behavior, especially with university audiences
  • Proven experience managing creative teams and cross-platform projects across advertising, social media, merchandising, and brand management
  • Skilled in recruitment marketing, audience segmentation, and integrating diverse media into cohesive institutional strategies
  • Proficient with marketing channels including direct mail, signage, sponsorships, promotional products, design, and digital or print collateral
  • Strong leadership in campaign development, creative direction, and project execution
  • Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Deep understanding of higher education missions and objectives, particularly the WVU College of Law.
