About the role
- Assistant Controller overseeing accounting team for federal government contracting services at BlueStreet Solutions. Responsibility for financial statements, audits, and compliance in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform work under very limited supervision requiring the need to exercise independent judgement.
- Provide oversight and direction for one or more specific business processes or functions.
- Assist in development, analysis, and communication of monthly financial statements on a timely basis.
- Identify, research, and resolve corporate accounting, auditing and operational issues.
- Oversee the activities of the government accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, monthly financial statements and annual audits.
- Data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting activities ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, GL and cash management.
- Coordinate and assist with audits with all external independent auditors (quarterly reviews, annual financial statement audit, bank audits, 401(k) audit, and other audits as required) and prepare of required items in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards.
- Assist with the development, implementation of and monitoring adherence to company accounting policies and procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
- Self-reliance and ability to operate independently with limited direction.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- Minimum of 8-10 Years Deltek Costpoint Experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Quickbooks, Jamis, Unanet.
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
