About the role

  • Delivers high-quality analytical services that drive the growth of Eversource’s electric transmission business
  • Responsible for supporting economic analyses for the ISO-New England (ISO-NE) control area
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and analysts to support strategic projects across the company
  • Provide the delivery of accurate, actionable insights
  • Identify, evaluate and pursue funding opportunities to support transmission strategy initiatives
  • Research technical data and state and federal regulatory policy information related to the New England wholesale electricity markets and high-voltage transmission system
  • Develop well-informed observations, insights, and summaries of research and analysis activities
  • Use information technology to find, store, manage, and convert raw information and data into useful input assumptions, tabular and graphical results, clear and concise narrative explanations, and visualizations that convey sophisticated concepts simply
  • Read, write, and contribute to strategic analyses of power sector energy and economics
  • Collaborate with and support a team of analysts and engineers in providing high quality analytical services and power sector forecasts
  • Analyze market trends, regulatory developments, and transmission economics to support strategic decision-making
  • Monitors and scrutinizes technical reports related to the operational and economic impact of clean energy resources on the electric transmission and distribution systems in New England
  • Organizes and maintains electronic files and data sources and internal communication platforms
  • Analyzes federal (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) and state policy proposals for their impact on Eversource and our customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of economic theory and wholesale electricity markets
  • Understanding of state and federal utility industry regulation
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO/RTO processes and FERC open access transmission tariffs preferred
  • Competency and proficiency in oral and written communications and the MS Office suite
  • Experience or familiarity with visualization software platforms (Power BI), and/or geographical information systems software preferred
  • Must have a valid drivers license
