About the role
- Accountant responsible for daily accounting transactions and compliance at payabl. in Limassol, Cyprus. Preparing management accounts and VAT returns while monitoring expenses.
Responsibilities
- Record and maintain daily accounting transactions in the accounting system (including, but not limited to, bank transactions, interest income, bank charges, leases, financial assets, prepayments and accruals).
- Prepare bank and other reconciliations of the group companies and ensure any discrepancies are resolved timely.
- Monitor the company’s card expenses and reconcile to receipts obtained from the departments.
- Prepare management accounts for small group companies and explain variances.
- Prepare VAT returns.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the direct manager or the CFO.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounts payable, billing, or related finance role.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and workflow tools like Trello.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
