About the role

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, vision and direct oversight for all optical engineering teams and people managers in the design and deployment of optical network infrastructure as well as automation systems and services.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering teams, encouraging professional development and skill enhancement.
- Mentor and develop emerging engineering leaders, promoting leadership skills and effective management practices across teams.
- Drive deployment of multiple strategic projects including infrastructure build outs, capability enablement, development, user testing, and data integrity.
- Directly support the cross functional teams by providing leadership and prioritization, removing roadblocks, and implement process and system improvements to improve efficiency.
- Develop and document program operation for all initiatives.
- Provide regular reporting on performance.
- Manage vendors to provide products and development services needed to perform groups’ activities and execute against roadmap.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to inform strategic decisions and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership role focused on optical networks.
- Proven expertise in the design and deployment of DWDM systems and optical network infrastructure, specifically with platforms such as Infinera, Ciena, and Nokia.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Financial acumen and experience managing budgets for large-scale network projects.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
