About the role
- Legal Director managing legal strategies and compliance for an international group in Morocco. Creates and oversees legal department while ensuring compliance with Moroccan laws and group standards.
Responsibilities
- Establish, structure and lead the Legal Department
- Provide strategic legal advice to the company’s various departments
- Manage legal risks and propose solutions to mitigate them
- Oversee drafting, review and negotiation of all types of contracts (in French and English)
- Monitor legislative developments in the sector
- Advise senior management on legal risks and propose action plans
- Supervise and maintain the local compliance program
- Implement and update policies to prevent regulatory sanctions
- Analyze the regulatory environment and ensure continuous adaptation to changes in Moroccan law
- Provide compliance recommendations for new products or processes
- Promote a culture of risk prevention and compliance
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Law
- Significant experience as legal counsel and in a compliance officer/head role
- Strong knowledge of the Moroccan legal framework
- Excellent negotiation, drafting and legal advisory skills
- Bilingual in French and English
- Strong ability to lead a team and to structure a department
