About the role

  • Legal Director managing legal strategies and compliance for an international group in Morocco. Creates and oversees legal department while ensuring compliance with Moroccan laws and group standards.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, structure and lead the Legal Department
  • Provide strategic legal advice to the company’s various departments
  • Manage legal risks and propose solutions to mitigate them
  • Oversee drafting, review and negotiation of all types of contracts (in French and English)
  • Monitor legislative developments in the sector
  • Advise senior management on legal risks and propose action plans
  • Supervise and maintain the local compliance program
  • Implement and update policies to prevent regulatory sanctions
  • Analyze the regulatory environment and ensure continuous adaptation to changes in Moroccan law
  • Provide compliance recommendations for new products or processes
  • Promote a culture of risk prevention and compliance

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Law
  • Significant experience as legal counsel and in a compliance officer/head role
  • Strong knowledge of the Moroccan legal framework
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting and legal advisory skills
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Strong ability to lead a team and to structure a department
