About the role

  • Environmental Permitting Consultant at WSP in Frankfurt providing environmental due diligence studies and advising on permitting procedures. Supporting local and international teams while managing project responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental due diligence studies for planned operational sites and development projects
  • Advise on environmental permitting and approval planning (e.g., under the German Federal Immission Control Act – BImSchG, and the Water Resources Act – WHG)
  • Prepare and submit permit applications for industrial facilities (construction permits, BImSchG permits) and manage interactions with authorities
  • Manage site development projects, including budget responsibility and coordination of specialist studies (e.g., environmental impact assessments, explosion protection)
  • Support WSP project teams for national and international clients, particularly in transactions and in clarifying permitting procedures
  • Support project acquisition activities, including delivering presentations and preparing proposals
  • Work closely with WSP specialist teams in Germany and internationally (working language generally English)

Requirements

  • Completed university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in environmental sciences, civil engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in permitting management and client project support
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant German environmental and permitting legislation
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, a high level of personal responsibility, and excellent teamwork skills
  • Proven very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
