Responsibilities
The Marketing Manager for Seed oversees the Seed portfolio, providing leadership and strategic direction to category marketing managers and the agronomy department.
Growing sales in line with given country sales targets, driving profitability, market share and customer satisfaction through planning and implementing the country marketing priorities for seed aligned with global and regional strategy.
Supporting commercial and customer needs by coordinating the national seed marketing strategy including product positioning, pricing, brand segmentation.
Taking accountability for product lifecycle management and all aspects of the marketing mix activities.
Leads the portfolio strategy for Seed and the marketing mix.
Accountable for relevant tasks like demand planning, product positioning, sales programs, services and pricing.
Identifies new business opportunities and product concepts based upon unmet market needs and for seed R&D/breeding decisions.
Monitors and analyses competitor products, positioning, trends and customer needs.
Coordinates with Category Marketing Managers and Marketing Communication Manager advertising plan and promotion activities and within set budget.
Oversees and strategically guides together with the Agronomy manager the activities of the agronomy team.
Builds the organizational competencies through ensuring development of product and crop training modules.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.
Oversees the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels.
Requirements
Degree in Agricultural Sciences with more than ten years of business experience working in the seed industry and in a country environment
Excellent knowledge of the German seed market and its customers and products
Profound expertise in product management and strategic marketing
Deep knowledge of especially the crops corn and oilseed rape
Strong strategic, innovative and customer mindset as well as ability to envision future market trends and opportunities
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience in team leadership and people management
