About the role

  • Principal Mechanical Engineer focusing on digital asset projects across the Energy sector. Execute engineering excellence and support project phases from concept to start-up.

Responsibilities

  • Executing assigned scopes of work
  • Providing discipline expertise to the business.
  • Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables including complex problems.
  • Creates and reviews designs, drawings, specifications, and other engineering deliverables involving both existing and new technology and applications
  • Requires mature professional knowledge in planning and conducting assignments having scope for coordination of difficult tasks.
  • Problems presented involve new concepts and new and varied issues that demand technical expertise, increased innovations, or considerable modifications of precedents.
  • Supporting and supervising task delegation to team.
  • Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
  • Provide discipline support to the business.
  • Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promote to direct reports.
  • Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution.
  • Relevant experience in operational and maintenance engineering.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and highlight areas of production risk due to equipment vulnerability.
  • Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports.
  • Executing assigned personal objectives
  • Self-motivated and pro-active with good written and verbal communication skills to be able to pass on information

Requirements

  • HNC or appropriate level of experience in Mechanical discipline
  • Experience and a drive for continual learning / understanding of the latest design tools, technologies and processes
  • Proven working experience within a mechanical environment
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of industry best practices and work to established standards
  • Previous experience of peer review and coaching
