About the role

  • Finance Manager supporting Maintenance Projects in US Onshore sector at Wood. Based in Houston, TX, driving financial performance and business partnering.

Responsibilities

  • The role has dual reporting responsibilities to the Senior Finance Manager and to the Operational Leader within the US Onshore Operations business.
  • Business partnering is a key element of the role in providing finance and decision-making support through building relationships and promoting close links with operational leadership.
  • Provide analysis, insight and views in respect of the financial performance of the business, be a trusted advisor and to add value that will assist in decision making.
  • The role carries profit and loss and working capital responsibility, and in certain cases, will also involve further balance sheet responsibilities for the applicable business.
  • Other main aspects of the role include governance, financial control, internal and external reporting, financial forecasting and cash collection.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and commercial finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role, preferably in a multi-line maintenance business environment.
  • Extensive commercial finance expertise, including advanced understanding of cost modeling, project accounting, working capital management, and margin analysis across multiple business lines.
  • Previous experience of managing and developing teams
  • Track record in people management
  • Advanced IT and systems proficiency, including ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Viewpoint, Sage, or similar), data analytics tools, and financial reporting automation.
  • Demonstrated success as a business partner to operational leadership — with measurable impact on profitability, cost control, and working capital efficiency.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience overseeing compliance, audit, and financial governance frameworks within a complex, project-based organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with ability to influence at executive and operational levels.
