Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Finance will play a critical role in the strategic management and financial oversight of the organization.
You will be the first, full time, senior finance leader at Wisedocs and joining at an exciting time.
As the VP of Finance, you will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for driving the company’s financial strategy and operations during a period of rapid growth and scaling.
You will oversee all aspects of financial planning and analysis, fundraising, cash flow management, budgeting, accounting, compliance, and risk management.
Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to guide company strategy and enable data-driven decision-making.
Own the company’s financial model and annual operating plan, collaborating across departments to ensure accuracy, transparency, and alignment with organizational priorities.
Maintain and analyze key SaaS performance metrics to deliver timely insights on growth and retention.
Oversee quarterly Board and investor reporting, providing concise financial narratives that inform strategic direction.
Deliver ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling to support business initiatives, investment opportunities, and operational optimization.
Oversee global accounting operations, including month-end close, audits, and preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Lead responsibility accounting frameworks and cost center management to drive accountability and efficient resource allocation across business units.
Manage treasury functions, cash flow forecasting, and working capital optimization.
Partner with our external auditor, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to domestic and international accounting and reporting standards.
Collaborate with Legal on risk management, contract compliance, and corporate policy enforcement.
Manage and negotiate SaaS contracts, including vendor, customer, and partnership agreements, ensuring fiscal prudence, appropriate risk mitigation, and operational scalability.
Supervise corporate insurance programs and coordinate with brokers to ensure optimal coverage and compliance.
Review and approve complex deals, providing financial and risk assessments to accelerate close cycles.
Support sales teams on custom pricing, renewal negotiations, and revenue recognition policies.
Partner with HR and the COO to align financial planning with headcount and talent strategies.
Design and manage sales compensation, commission plans, and incentive frameworks tied to performance outcomes.
Oversee equity administration, collaborating with Legal and HR on cap table management, new grants, terminations, and annual valuations.
Prepare quarterly investor materials, capital plans, and due diligence packages to support ongoing communication and funding initiatives.
Oversee corporate capitalization strategy, including management of the cap table, option grants, and 409A valuations.
Play a key role in future fundraising activities, from financial modeling to investor engagement and transaction execution.
Build and mentor a high-performing Finance organization
Champion continuous improvement of financial systems and infrastructure, including ERP, CRM, billing, and CLM/CPQ tools, to support operational scalability.
Partner cross-functionally to strengthen financial governance, business intelligence, and strategic execution as the company expands globally.
Requirements
University degree coupled with a CPA/CA designation. MBA an asset.
Minimum 10 years' experience as a Senior Finance Leader
In-depth knowledge of audit standards and account
Experience presenting financial information to Executive Management and a Board of Directors
Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
Require a familiarity with the various activities and by-laws of the organization and of the precedents in various areas such as fee determination and relations to members
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
Strong leadership presence with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior finance or VP-level role within a SaaS, technology, or high-growth startup environment.
Proven track record of managing end-to-end finance functions, including FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, audit, and compliance.
Demonstrated experience with international finance operations, including multi-entity consolidations, cross-border taxation, and global compliance frameworks.
Hands-on experience implementing and overseeing responsibility accounting systems, cost center reporting, and budget accountability structures.
Deep understanding of SaaS business models and metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, NRR, etc.) and how to operationalize them into decision-making.
Prior experience leading or supporting fundraising, investor relations, and due diligence processes.
Experience partnering with Sales, Legal, and Operations to manage SaaS contracts, pricing models, and deal structuring.
Background managing financial system implementations (ERP, billing, CRM, CLM, or CPQ platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, or Workday).
