Responsibilities
- Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems
- Provides technical assistance and training to system users

- Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, network equipment, etc.
- Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer.
- Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
- Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems.
- Instructs users in use of hardware and software.
- Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.
- Coordinates activities with help desk, network services, or other information systems groups.
- Assists in upgrading network hardware and software components as required.
- Provides updates, status, and completion information to Director of IT, IT Help Desk System and/or users, via chat, email, or in-person communication.
- Replaces defective or inadequate software packages.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or technical school; or twenty-four months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to run, terminate, test network cable as needed
- Ability to perform network troubleshooting tasks and report as needed to the IT team for further investigation.
- Ability to support end users onsite and also outside of the WI facility remotely and ensures they are getting the assistance they need on a timely basis.
