About the role

  • PMO Manager establishing the Project Management Office while supporting the executive management in implementing company strategies. Responsible for structuring and monitoring strategic projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, further develop and institutionalize the central Project Management Office (PMO) as a staff function reporting to executive management
  • Support the executive management in translating the company strategy into programs, projects and concrete measures
  • Structure, prioritize and manage strategic projects and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain a company-wide project landscape (roadmaps, milestones, dependencies)
  • Ensure consistent project methods, standards and tools across the company
  • Monitor project progress with respect to schedule, costs, quality and goal attainment
  • Conduct project and portfolio controlling including status reports, decision papers and management dashboards
  • Identify risks, deviations and conflicting objectives and derive appropriate countermeasures
  • Facilitate project steering committees and workshops
  • Work closely with executive management, leaders and business units
  • Support change and transformation projects
  • Develop suitable KPIs to measure success

Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in project management, PMO or strategy-related roles
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
  • Strong understanding of business processes, organizational structures and financial interrelations
  • Confident use of project management methodologies (waterfall, hybrid or agile)
  • Experience in project and portfolio controlling
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Consulting experience is an advantage
