About the role
- Safety Analysis Engineer performing design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors at Westinghouse. Reporting to the Manager of Loss of Coolant Analysis, ensuring reactor safety protocols and methodologies.
Responsibilities
- As a Safety Analysis Engineer will be responsible for performing design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors
- You will report to the Manager of Loss of Coolant Analysis
- Responsible for performing design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, in particular for Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA)
- Development and assessment of models and correlations for prediction of two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena
- Use of statistical techniques for performing realistic nuclear reactor safety analysis and/or development of analysis methodologies for design basis accidents
- Cognizance of plant specific licensing basis, Analysis of Record, 50.46 reporting
- Point of contact for plant-specific LOCA specific inquiries from both internal and external customers
- Evaluate impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
Requirements
- Bachelors in one of the following Engineering Disciplines Required: Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering
- Minimum 3.0 GPA required
