About the role

  • Lead Data Consultant at Wavestone designing and implementing modern data architectures in cloud environments. Guiding clients in the financial services and insurance industries with innovative data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as experienced consultant on client projects while guiding others and advancing our data capabilities
  • Play a key role in designing and implementing modern, scalable data architectures in cloud environments
  • Drive end-to-end delivery, shaping future-ready data solutions for clients across industries — with a focus on financial services and insurance
  • Support pre-sales and proposal development with expert know-how
  • Enhance client network, prepare and conduct client pitches
  • Lead the design and implementation of state of the art data platforms that are secure, scalable, and aligned with client needs
  • Act as a trusted advisor for clients, translating business goals into sustainable data solutions
  • Take ownership of the data workstream within cross-functional consulting projects
  • Guide and mentor consultants and data engineers, fostering their development and project impact
  • Continuously deepen expertise in modern data architectures through hands-on project work and innovation initiatives
  • Contribute to internal best practices, capability building, and knowledge sharing across the Data & AI team

Requirements

  • Strong consulting background with hands-on project experience designing and delivering data solutions
  • Deep technical understanding of modern data architecture principles (e.g., ELT, data mesh, data lakes, security & governance)
  • Experience in building robust data pipelines and integrations using tools such as dbt, Azure Data Factory, or similar
  • Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP) and their respective data services
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in client-facing roles
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding teams, mentoring peers, and taking ownership of workstreams
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
  • A proactive, curious mindset and a passion for continuously evolving in the Data & AI space
