About the role
- Advanced Operations Engineer leading NPI and process development efforts for electronics manufacturing. Serving as a technical interface for quality, cost, and delivery objectives across teams.
Responsibilities
- Leads new product introduction (NPI) and process development efforts
- Serves as the technical interface between customers, program management, and manufacturing
- Conducts Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Develops manufacturing process flows, work instructions, and tooling requirements
- Supports first builds, pilot runs, and production ramp-up
- Optimizes SMT, through-hole, box build, and test processes
- Drives yield improvement, scrap reduction, and process capability
- Supports root cause investigations and corrective actions
- Partners cross-functionally with Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Production
- Interfaces with customers on technical and manufacturing topics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing
- Experience supporting NPI in a contract manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in regulated industries (Medical, Aerospace, Defense)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP and MES systems
