About the role

• Senior Associate Lawyer at a Venture Capital law firm in Berlin, supporting startups through financial negotiations and contract management. Engaging with clients across all business lifecycle stages.

Responsibilities

• We support clients throughout the entire lifecycle of a company.
• Accordingly, from day one you will have direct contact with clients and gain first-hand experience of the different stages of a company's development.
• This includes preparing, structuring and negotiating company formation agreements;
• Drafting and negotiating agreements for various financing rounds, either on behalf of startups or venture capital investors;
• Preparing, structuring, and negotiating agreements for the sale of companies;
• You will have a direct impact on startup culture by designing and negotiating employee equity programs;
• As the primary point of contact for founders and investors, you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts and advising on complex decisions.

Requirements

• Second state law examination (Zweites juristisches Staatsexamen) or an equivalent qualification;
• At least 4 years of professional experience in M&A, corporate law, or venture capital / private equity;
• Strong interest in the subject area;
• High degree of independence and personal responsibility;
• Open-mindedness, strong communication skills and diplomatic tact;
• Fluent German and English, with negotiation-level proficiency.
