Mechanical Engineer developing next-gen micromobility hardware for Voi Technology in China. Collaborating with suppliers and teams to ensure product performance and reliability in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
Be part of the co-development of hardware with suppliers, ensuring alignment with Voi’s requirements
Define, review, and verify supplier designs through rigorous design reviews, teardowns, testing etc to safeguard performance, quality and reliability
Designing in CAD and work with suppliers for assemblies Voi wants to take control over in cases where our suppliers are not able to provide exclusive rights to Voi on specific designs
Investigate in-field failures after launch, determine root causes, and implement solutions with suppliers to improve product performance
Work closely with Voi teams (HW & QA, IoT, SW, procurement, supply chain) and external partners to deliver seamless solutions
Travel every half year to Europe and Sweden (a few weeks at a time) to collaborate with suppliers and occasionally visit Voi markets for hands-on fieldwork
Requirements
Strong experience working with suppliers, ideally Chinese but also bonus if other nationalities
Strong end-to-end experience of mechanical engineering development process with special experience related to requirements settings, testing and verification, design reviews
Able to collaborate with many different functions including project managers, electrical engineers, test & verification engineers as well experience working with procurement, FW team, QA and supply chain team
Experience working end to end with CAD, CAE, FEA
Experience doing hands-on assessments and design improvements related to repairability and serviceability
Experience working with DFMEA, PFMEA
Experience with testing and verification to assess reliability
