About the role

Responsibilities
- Administer backup and data recovery environments, ensuring service continuity, protection of corporate information and compliance with agreed service levels (SLAs).
- Configure, deploy, operate and support corporate backup solutions based on Dell EMC technologies, including PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), Avamar, NetWorker and Data Domain.
- Execute and monitor backup, restore and recovery test routines, ensuring compliance with business-defined RPO and RTO.
- Perform analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of failures related to backup jobs, retention, performance and capacity.
- Carry out data restorations (files, databases, VMs and applications) according to requests and operational procedures.
- Monitor the data protection environment, identifying risks, alerts and opportunities for improvement.
- Support cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Assist with capacity planning, retention policies and data lifecycle management.
- Participate in technology evolution projects, upgrades, migrations and implementation of new backup solutions.
- Document technical procedures, operational standards and lessons learned.
- Work collaboratively with infrastructure, systems, cloud, information security teams and vendors to ensure integration and adherence to best practices.
- Support audits, compliance requests and regulatory requirements related to data protection.
- Provide operational support, including participation in on-call rotations as required by the environment.
Requirements
- Proven professional experience in Information Technology, working with backup, infrastructure or data protection in corporate environments.
- Hands-on experience with Dell EMC data protection solutions (PPDM, Avamar, NetWorker and Data Domain).
- Experience with Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience with virtualized environments (e.g., VMware).
- Knowledge of backup solutions for Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Understanding of concepts such as RPO and RTO; data retention; full, incremental and archive backups.
- Strong analytical skills, organization and attention to critical environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of Huawei OceanProtect.
- Experience in mission-critical environments.
- Basic automation skills (Shell, PowerShell or similar).
- Basic knowledge of information security and ransomware protection.
- Technical certifications (Dell, Cloud, ITIL or related).
- Experience with ServiceNow.
- Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related fields.
