About the role

  • Network Engineer responsible for designing and configuring broadband networks at vitroconnect. Involves installation, automation and management of network infrastructures while ensuring high-level operations and support.

Responsibilities

  • responsible for the design, configuration and 3rd-level operation of broadband networks
  • oversee the expansion and modification of the redundant network infrastructure
  • installation, configuration and commissioning of LAN and WAN solutions
  • responsible for automating the configuration of network elements
  • development and customization of network management tools
  • deployment and operation of internal servers
  • rotating on-call duty with colleagues

Requirements

  • Vocational training as an IT Specialist (System Integration) or a comparable qualification, or a degree in (Business) Computer Science
  • Experience in routing, switching and operating complex network infrastructures
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, PPP, L2TP, RADIUS
  • Experience with network equipment from Cisco, Juniper and Nokia
  • Experience in the network automation domain
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. bash, Perl, Python)
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in UNIX/Linux
  • Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
