About the role
- Software Engineer II developing innovative software solutions for Vistra’s Global Expansion Platform team. Collaborating with stakeholders and engineers using Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and MySQL.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions
- Work with fellow engineers to design and implement full stack applications using Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and MySQL
- Develop and maintain REST APIs that are secure, performant, and well-documented
- Participate in Scrum Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Ensure code quality and performance through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration practices
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices to improve both development processes and product quality
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in full stack development using Next.js + TypeScript and Node.js + TypeScript
- Proficiency in MySQL and experience in database design and optimization
- Knowledge of REST API development
- Experience working in Scrum Agile software engineering teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
