About the role
- Cloud Security Engineer at Verizon integrating security into Agile/DevSecOps practices and enforcing security through automation and infrastructure as code.
Responsibilities
- Integrate security into Agile/DevSecOps strategy and practices by using DevSecOps principles, processes and tools
- Build automation/ infrastructure as code to enforce cloud infrastructure security
- Automate security processes into CI/CD pipeline
- Develop and promote best practices for DevSecOps and secure CI/CD
- Stay up-to-date on new security tools & techniques
- Design and implement automated cloud security controls (e.g., auto-remediation for multi cloud services, IAM, security groups) using Python/Boto3
- Collect security-related metrics and increase security visibility across the organization
- Deploy security tools to cloud infrastructure platforms such as Google Cloud or AWS, through automation using infrastructure-as-code principles
- Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or two or more years of relevant work experience
- Four or more years of relevant experience in DevOps and Security Engineering Skills
- Experience as a full stack developer, with hands-on experience in DevSecOps practices
- Proven track record of securely architecting and owning cloud platforms such as (AWS, GCP ) using Infrastructure as code techniques
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory and Ansible
- Deep understanding of secure coding principles and common vulnerabilities in various languages (e.g, Python, Django, JavaScript) including Linux and Unix Expertise
- Experience with software development or scripting with at least one of these programming languages – Python, Java, Node JS
- Knowledge of Agile & DevSecOps methodologies
