About the role
- Demand and Supply Planner role at Valmet focusing on aligning global demand and supply for effective operations. Collaborating across teams to optimize resources and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain supply plans balancing demand with production, logistics, inventory, capacity, and resources.
- Create production and capacity scenarios based on sales forecast, including cost and financial impact.
- Identify bottlenecks, and assess risks and opportunities related to capacity, lead times, and cost efficiency.
- Create Microsoft Project TargetTime Schedules (TTS) during the sales phase.
- Support resource planning for Engineering and Production through workload, capacity analysis.
- Conduct make ‑ or ‑ buy analyses and prepare Total Cost Analyses (TCAs) to support financially optimal decisions.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to optimize cost, capacity, lead times, and financial performance.
Requirements
- Experience in demand and supply planning in industrial, machinery, or project ‑ based (ETO) environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and evaluate demand, supply, capacity, and scenario analyses; proficiency in planning and analysis tools (e.g., Workflow automation solutions, Power BI).
- Experience in supporting sales ‑ phase planning activities, including cost, capacity, and schedule evaluations, and in contributing to smooth handover from sales to execution.
- Understanding capacity and resource planning for Engineering and Production, including workload analysis and medium ‑ term outlooks.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed organization and collaborate across Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
- Proactive and structured mindset with a passion for process optimization, proactive planning, and data ‑ driven decision ‑ making.
- Ability to prepare business analyses and planning insights to support management decision ‑ making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
