About the role
- Accounting Manager overseeing all accounting operations including General Accounting and Taxes across the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Leading the accounting team while ensuring compliance with IFRS and US GAAP.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the extended accounting team
- Collaborate effectively with the Americas management team and maintain strong working relationships with peers at Valentino Headquarters in Milan
- Manage a variety of vendor relationships related to governmental agencies, auditors, banks, insurance, etc.
- Lead and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for USA, Canada and Mexico entities
- Review and validate journal entries, accruals, provisions, and account reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
- Monitor and analyze month-over-month variances
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, and audit standards throughout the close cycle
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA (plus)
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within luxury, fashion, retail, or consumer goods environments
- Solid expertise in IFRS and US GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting within a multi-entity or multinational organization
- Strong knowledge of retail and wholesale accounting, including revenue recognition, inventory, COGS, and intercompany transactions
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP S4H and Tagetik); advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex close processes in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and clearly communicate insights to senior stakeholders
- High level of attention to detail, discretion, and professional integrity, aligned to luxury brand values.
