About the role
- Component Engineer ensuring high quality component data meets environmental regulations. Collaborating with stakeholders and updating data systems within Vaisala’s Sourcing organization.
Responsibilities
- Ensure components meet relevant environmental and regulatory requirements
- Manage and update component data in the Product Data Management (PDM) system
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulations such as RoHS, REACH, and TSCA
- Approve new components and evaluate component maturity and life cycle
Requirements
- Genuine interest in environmental topics
- Basic understanding of environmental legislation on restricted materials (e.g. RoHS, REACH, TSCA)
- Basic knowledge of chemistry, materials technology, electronics, mechanics or electromechanics
- Bachelor’s degree or similar in engineering or environmental sciences
- Good networking and collaboration skills
- Preferably some prior experience in environmental data field
- Works in a persistent, precise, organized and co-operative manner
- Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication abilities
