About the role
- Accountant Royalties overseeing financial execution of contracts and licensing at Universal Music. Responsible for billing, compliance, and collaboration with artists and management.
Responsibilities
- Your main responsibility is the financial implementation of our contracts, in particular the review, preparation and dispatch of license statements to our artists
- You ensure that all billing-relevant parameters are correctly recorded in the accounting system
- You support the Controlling team with month-end accounting entries
- You ensure that all settlements and payments are made in the correct period, including recalculations and corrections
- You are the central point of contact — acting as the interface to artists and their management, the legal department and sales/distribution, providing information regarding license agreements and settlements
- You perform data analysis for Controlling/Legal/partners and serve as the contact person for queries and audits
- Overall, you competently support the team in all billing-related and organizational tasks
- In addition to your accounting-focused duties, you will also take on other administrative tasks within Royalties
Requirements
- You have completed a commercial apprenticeship or a relevant degree, ideally with an accounting focus
- You have at least 3 years of professional experience in license accounting or bookkeeping
- You are highly proficient with Microsoft Office and have experience using SAP R/3; you are tool-savvy and comfortable working across multiple systems simultaneously
- Ideally, you are comfortable reading contracts and have a passion for music
- You have business-fluent German and English, both written and spoken
