About the role
- Loan Operations Commercial Loan Closer managing the closing process of C&I and CRE loans. Collaborating with various partners to ensure timely and efficient loan closures.
Responsibilities
- Analyze approved credit requests to pinpoint required pre-close conditions and due diligence needs
- Order and review essential due diligence items such as Title Commitments, UCC searches, Flood determinations, Proof of insurance, Surveys, Entity documents, Real estate appraisals, Environmental Assessments, Good Standing Certificates, and Beneficial Ownership
- Ensure all due diligence items are received and reviewed for accurate loan document creation and lien perfection
- Submit loan details to the internal Doc Prep team for closing documentation
- Engage with approved attorneys to prepare and/or close loan documents
- Coordinate closing dates and times with all relevant parties, including attorneys, title companies, customers, CRM, and LOA
- Review draft closing documents and settlement statements for accuracy, ensuring they align with loan approval
- Provide final approval for closing once all conditions and due diligence requirements are satisfied
- Verify executed documents for complete and accurate signatures, then forward to Loan Servicing for booking
- Ensure all supporting documentation is properly loaded to CreditLens and/or submitted for imaging
- Assist with initial loan disbursement at closing, acting as the second required signature
- Deliver exceptional service to internal and external clients with urgency and a positive attitude
Requirements
- 5+ years in the financial services industry, with a preference for commercial loan experience
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
- Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Organizational and time management skills to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Commitment to compliance training and continuous learning
- College degree in business or paralegal certification (preferred)
