About the role

  • Controlling Manager overseeing Controlling processes, financial operations, and team management at Universitätsklinikum des Saarlandes. Responsible for internal reporting and operational improvements across hospital departments.

Responsibilities

  • As Head of Controlling (m/f/d) you report directly to the directorate management
  • Act as a controlling partner with regular exchange formats across the clinics
  • Hold personnel responsibility for an eight‑member controlling team
  • Are responsible for strategic and operational financial and investment controlling in coordination with the directorate management
  • Conduct internal reporting including budget vs. actual comparisons, variance analyses and ad‑hoc evaluations
  • Optimize controlling processes
  • Design interfaces and work closely with other managers on strategic corporate management
  • Implement the tasks derived from the hospital budget within the Controlling department
  • Plan cost, performance and revenue controlling as well as data quality and reporting and management presentations
  • Conduct regular planning and budget meetings with clinic and institute leaders
  • Steer the economic development of all clinical areas
  • Develop and implement controlling systems (CO, BW, S/4HANA)
  • Prepare tailored reports for the executive board, medical departments and nursing

Requirements

  • University degree in medical/nursing sciences and/or business administration, or several years of professional experience in healthcare controlling
  • Solid knowledge in the described areas of responsibility
  • Several years of experience in personnel management within the hospital sector
  • Proficient in SAP (modules FI, CO, BW), KHBV, KIS, InEK cost matrix
  • Confident user of MS Office products and QlikView
  • Strong knowledge of hospital financing, controlling systems and hospital cost accounting; experience with hospital cost unit accounting
  • Very strong analytical and conceptual skills and a pronounced numerical affinity
  • Experience implementing new systems as well as process and organizational changes
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills and a confident presence at all levels; analytical, structured and solution‑oriented
  • Openness, strong communication skills, commitment, conscientiousness and creativity; flexible adaptability to different situations
