About the role

  • Functional Safety Engineer at TÜV Rheinland conducting assessments and supporting clients in Safety and Cyber-Security. Requires collaboration on complex systems and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Functional Safety assessments of challenging projects
  • Support clients in Functional Safety and Cyber-Security topics
  • Ensure completion of independent project management responsibilities
  • Set and track time & cost limits
  • Investigate testing requirements to additional applicable international standards
  • Supervise / witness laboratory tests
  • Create test reports, drafts certificates and document test results for performed assessments
  • Identify new approaches to new developments & technologies used in safety-related environments
  • Keep strict client confidentiality
  • Support sales and marketing activities

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Prior experience as a Hardware and/or Software Design Engineer preferred
  • Superior analytical and project management skills
  • Strong communications skill sets (written, verbal and active listening)
  • Strong interpersonal skill sets supporting ability to work effectively with internal team members and clients/client teams
  • Experience in certifying products to industrial safety standards (e.g. IEC61508) or Cyber-Security (e.g. IEC 62443-4-x) preferred
  • Project Management Certification Preferred
  • Good knowledge about the industry, latest developments and changing market conditions
