About the role

  • Lead digital transformation within Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering at Ford, optimizing manufacturing stations through innovative virtual assembly simulations. Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure efficacy in engineering processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the digital transformation within Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME).
  • Break down traditional engineering silos by facilitating iterative, virtual assembly simulations that ensure every manufacturing station is validated and optimized before physical implementation.
  • Lead the collaborative effort to ensure our workstations pass their Digital Job 1.
  • Facilitate weekly cross-functional virtual working level meetings.
  • Lead the digital assessment and 3D modeling of manual and semi-automated workstations from concept through final validation.
  • Champion the digital milestone reviews and Virtual Build Events.
  • Build and maintain Digital Twins in Siemens Teamcenter.
  • Perform complex 3D simulations involving dynamic humans, machines, and robots to identify bottlenecks.
  • Act as the primary interface between diverse engineering workstreams to ensure manufacturing strategies are holistic and functional.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies such as Virtual Reality and advanced simulation software.
  • Support the development of global digital engineering methods and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred).
  • Proficiency in Siemens Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, and Process Simulate (Tecnomatix).
  • Experience in a Manufacturing or Launch environment.
  • The "Collaborative Mindset": Proven ability to lead meetings, manage conflict between competing engineering priorities, and drive groups toward a shared solution.
  • Technical Mastery: Practical experience with 3D modeling (CATIA or similar), Ergonomic analysis tools, and Discrete Event Simulation (DES).
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify complex assembly issues in a virtual environment and develop creative, cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Resilience: Ability to remain effective and proactive in times of ambiguity and rapid technological change.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex digital data to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to plant locations as required (mainly North America) to support physical validation.
