About the role

  • Senior Database Administrator managing critical infrastructure and multiple database platforms for energy services. Collaborating within a team on high-impact projects that support operational technology services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support multiple database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Perform performance tuning, patching, database builds, backup/recovery, and ensure business continuity
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using KornShell, PowerShell, T-SQL, PL/SQL
  • Partner with application support teams on projects of all sizes and durations
  • Serve as a diagnostician and solution provider for data, information, and business process-related analysis
  • Incorporate data governance into daily activities and enable data-driven decisions
  • Provide expertise in data integration, insights, trends, and solution recommendations
  • Participate in on-call rotation (every 4 weeks, 7-day coverage)
  • Use ServiceNow to manage and fulfill requests

Requirements

  • 8+ years of IT experience or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle (12c, 19c, 21c) and SQL Server (2014–2022) administration
  • Expertise in backup/recovery, performance tuning, clustering, and failover
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL database administration
  • Strong scripting skills (KornShell, PowerShell, T-SQL, PL/SQL)
  • Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, replication technologies, Oracle ASM, RAC, Data Guard
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
