Responsibilities

  • Monitor database server performance.
  • Maintain appropriate performance of database services, maximizing their potential.
  • Develop documentation for database processes.
  • Maintain database management systems.
  • Conduct performance testing and monitoring of databases, tuning environments as needed, and planning capacity accordingly.
  • Manage access levels to ensure information security.
  • Define and test contingency plans and restore procedures.
  • Provide support to users on the best use of Oracle or SQL for database access.
  • Analyze quantitative indicators of database efficiency and inefficiency and improve query response times.
  • Implement and administer backup/restore routines, perform user audits, run database checks, develop procedures, views, triggers, and functions, and handle other related tasks.
  • Monitor and apply vendor-recommended patches and fixes.
  • Evaluate database alternatives to meet the development team's needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related Database field.
  • Knowledge of: Oracle Database, MySQL, PL/SQL, ETL tools, GoldenGate, Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, programming languages, and Git.
  • Data modeling and monitoring tools.
