About the role

  • In collaboration with the Project Director, lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of digital LDG initiatives, with a primary focus on eReferral and Central Intake solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with all hospitals in the Central South Local Delivery Group (Central South LDG), including Halton Healthcare, William Osler, and Mackenzie Health, to advance digital initiatives. Additionally, interact and coordinate with all hospitals across the broader Central Region to ensure regional alignment and integration of digital health projects.
  • Collaborate closely with the Central South Clinical LDG Lead and other clinicians across all hospitals in the Central South LDG and broader region, facilitating effective communication, supporting issue resolution, and driving change management efforts to ensure successful implementation and adoption of digital initiatives.
  • Oversee the integration of eReferral and Central Intake systems with existing digital health platforms, ensuring seamless data flow, user experience, and interoperability across the LDG digital ecosystem.
  • Coordinate the development and deployment of digital workflows for Central Intake, optimizing efficiency, equity, and patient-centered access.
  • Manage digital transformation projects including upgrades, enhancements, and expansions to the LDG projects, ensuring alignment with regional strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Monitor and analyze system data and digital metrics for eReferral and Central Intake, regularly reporting on adoption, performance, and process improvements to leadership and partners.
  • Develop and maintain digital training resources and technical support structures for clinical, administrative, and external users of LDG digital systems.
  • Lead digital stakeholder engagement, gathering feedback from users to inform system enhancements and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within LDG digital operations.
  • Ensure all digital projects comply with privacy, security, and data governance standards, particularly with respect to health information exchanged via eReferral and Central Intake.
  • Manage digital project budgets, resource allocations, and vendor relationships specific to eReferral and Central Intake solutions.
  • Champion digital literacy and adoption among team members and stakeholders, acting as a subject matter expert in digital health technologies related to LDG operations.
  • Proactively identify emerging digital trends, tools, or risks, and recommend strategies for the LDG program to remain at the forefront of digital healthcare innovation.
  • Coordinate and participate in user acceptance testing and quality assurance planning for any new digital features or system integrations related to eReferral and Central Intake.
  • Collaborate with IT, clinical, and administrative teams to troubleshoot, resolve, and document technical issues impacting digital LDG workflows.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of digital performance indicators to drive evidence-based improvements in LDG’s digital service delivery.
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange with peer organizations, sharing LDG digital successes and lessons learned, and adopting recognized leading practices in digital health.
  • Prepare briefings, updates, and reports to present to executive leadership, the board, LDG members, and external stakeholders.
  • Leverage business acumen and writing skills to produce high-quality documents for diverse audiences including executives, clinicians, administrators, and LDG stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing mid to large sized projects of increasing complexity.
  • University degree and/or College diploma with related experience in Computer Science, Management, Clinical/Health Informatics or related field.
  • Experience with Epic application architecture and applications configuration
  • Experience with external partner relationships and contract understanding
  • Solid understanding of all business practices within a large acute care and academic hospital is a definite asset.
  • Experience in facilitating change, including collaboration with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Good presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written.
  • Ability to align and leverage business and technology perspectives.
  • Results oriented with the ability to prioritize and deliver against key priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, work collaboratively and resolve problems with people at all levels in the organization, across lines of business and with third party vendors; experience interacting with senior members of the organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of PMIs project management (PMBOK) methodology and experience in developing business cases, project charters, executive summary reports, and statement of work (scope definition) documents.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and Proficiency in MS-Project, MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint and Acrobat are required.
  • Demonstrated management in a complex environment with effective interpersonal and negotiations skills including outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Familiarity with public-sector procurement and exposure to health informatics an asset.
