About the role
- Senior Product Counsel advising on legal issues and contractual agreements for products at TransUnion. Review products, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Senior Product Counsel for the Alternative Data team
- Review new products and enhancements to products
- Advise internal clients on legal issues
- Maintain primary responsibility for drafting template agreements for new products or solutions
- Negotiate partner and data provider agreements
- Provide advice to stakeholders regarding changes in the law, contracts, or other legal issues
- Responsible for keeping abreast of current legislative and regulatory developments
- Assist other attorneys on various matters including those which present potential for litigation
- Maintain complete confidentiality of company-related business
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited school required
- Active license to practice law in applicable state(s) of employment by position start date
- Required knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
- 6+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
- Ability to provide advice to senior level executives
- Trusted partner to the Alternative Data team
- Solid organizational, project management, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Experience working within matrixed organizations
- Experience advising clients with regard to and negotiating financial, data, and technology agreements in a regulated environment
- Knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations relating to banking, lending, privacy, and data sharing
