About the role

  • Account Manager driving sales growth within transportation planning software sector. Building relationships and managing client accounts in Birmingham's public and private sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve assigned sales and performance targets within your territory.
  • Conduct structured daily sales activities, including prospecting and appointment setting.
  • Generate new leads through after‑sales follow‑ups, cold calling, research, networking, and email outreach.
  • Follow up promptly on all inbound leads and enquiries within your region.
  • Identify, manage, and maintain accurate prospect and client records in the CRM.
  • Build and develop long‑term relationships with existing customers through regular communication.
  • Manage and support relationships with Transoft Sales Partners in your territory.
  • Serve as the primary communication link between clients and internal teams, ensuring timely and effective responses.
  • Manage the full sales cycle: targeting top prospects, identifying needs, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Address objections, prepare cost calculations, and deliver accurate quotations.
  • Review performance using KPIs and provide timely, accurate sales forecasts to management.
  • Participate in sales meetings and prepare detailed sales analysis reports.
  • Represent Transoft at trade shows, partner events, conferences, and regional meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Finance, Operations, and other internal departments.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field
  • 1–3 years’ experience in sales or sales support
  • Strong hands‑on experience with CRM systems
  • Experience in the Engineering sector is an advantage
  • Proven and verifiable track record in sales, account management, or any client‑facing revenue role
  • Familiarity with design software is a plus
  • Excellent networking and relationship‑building abilities
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Highly motivated, results‑driven, and proactive
  • Team‑oriented but comfortable working independently
  • Effective negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel as required.
