About the role
- Legal Counsel providing commercial support across regulatory and transactional matters at Trainline. Drafting contracts and advising on compliance in a dynamic, consumer-facing environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the business across a broad range of commercial, regulatory and transactional matters
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts
- Provide practical legal advice and product counselling to business teams on day-to-day commercial issues
- Support the business on regulatory matters, working cross functionally to interpret and apply relevant laws and regulations
- Assist on a variety of transactions and projects, including strategic partnerships, new product launches and operational initiatives
Requirements
- Combination of private practice and in-house experience, preferably advising on multi-jurisdictional issues in a consumer facing business
- Experience structuring, drafting and negotiating a range of agreements
- Prior exposure and comfort advising on data privacy/data protection laws, preferred but not essential
- Interest in, or some exposure to, regulatory compliance and managing external stakeholders (bonus points: industry-specific knowledge)
- Effective organisational and prioritisation skills to handle multiple matters simultaneously
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels of the business
- Team player, eager to work in dynamic and fast paced environment
