About the role

  • Legal Intern providing support for tobacco regulation at Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. Assisting with legal research and policy analysis related to FDA regulation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and policy support for the regulation of tobacco and nicotine products by the FDA and state, local, and Tribal authorities.
  • Support litigation, legislative, and regulatory activities, including legal research and policy analysis related to FDA regulation and the defense of state and local tobacco control laws.
  • Work on substantive assignments as if you are a full-time staff attorney.
  • Participate in daily communications and weekly meetings related to CTFK’s advocacy efforts.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a law school in the United States.
  • Ability to work in the United States.
  • Excellent analytical skills and legal writing and research ability.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to be flexible and modify priorities as needed.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with only general supervision.
