About the role
- Legal Intern providing support for tobacco regulation at Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. Assisting with legal research and policy analysis related to FDA regulation.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal and policy support for the regulation of tobacco and nicotine products by the FDA and state, local, and Tribal authorities.
- Support litigation, legislative, and regulatory activities, including legal research and policy analysis related to FDA regulation and the defense of state and local tobacco control laws.
- Work on substantive assignments as if you are a full-time staff attorney.
- Participate in daily communications and weekly meetings related to CTFK’s advocacy efforts.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a law school in the United States.
- Ability to work in the United States.
- Excellent analytical skills and legal writing and research ability.
- Detail-oriented.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to be flexible and modify priorities as needed.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with only general supervision.
