About the role

  • Modeling and Simulation Engineer providing technical support to PEO IWS 2.0 on M&S activities. Responsibilities include strategy development and coordination of modeling activities on defense systems in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-time support to the PEO IWS 2.0 Above Water Sensors Directorate on Modeling and Simulation (M&S) activities
  • Primarily providing technical and programmatic services and must have ability to understand and communicate effectively with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across all levels of government and industry
  • Work alongside programmatic and technical experts within PEO IWS 2.0 program office and their PEO IWS 2.0 radar, electronic warfare, electro-optical, and decoy systems to coordinate M&S activities
  • Develop and maintain a PEO IWS 2.0 M&S strategy / roadmap
  • Maintain and track M&S resources and a PEO IWS 2.0 M&S catalog
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and document the Verification, Validation, and Accreditation of PEO IWS 2.0 M&S assets
  • Manage, track, and publish action items assigned to PEO IWS 2.0 from PEO IWS M&S IPT activities
  • Participate in external M&S activities and system uses by combat systems and ship platform in their digital test beds throughout the planning, scheduling, readiness reviews, accreditations, data runs, data analysis, and reporting activities
  • Participate in the PEO IWS 2.0 digital engineering efforts
  • Provide a monthly summary of M&S activities and issues to PEO IWS 2.0 T&E PAPM and PEO IWS 2.0 M&S Lead

Requirements

  • Possess or meet eligibility for DOD SECRET security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or similar field
  • 3+ years of relevant M&S experience, particularly in the area of DoD engineering or programmatic support
  • Possesses own transportation to support regular local travel (e.g. travel to NRL)
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, provide high quality services and products, while meeting strict deadlines and time constraints
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Must be energetic, thoughtful, product-oriented, dependable, flexible, open-minded individual with an eagerness to learn with demonstrated strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated forward thinking and proactive problem solving skills
  • Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant M&S experience, particularly in the area of DoD engineering or programmatic support
  • Hands-on experience utilizing M&S and related tools
  • Experience with Navy’s radar, electronic warfare, and/or combat systems.
