About the role
- Functional Analyst analyzing and documenting business and regulatory requirements for technology services in Lisbon. Collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure effective communication and understanding.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze and document business and regulatory requirements with internal stakeholders (business, risk, compliance, operations) and external stakeholders (participants, ECB, regulator)
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into specifications understandable by technical teams (architecture, development, QA)
- Support the definition of business rules, SLAs/SLOs, exception scenarios, incident management and regulatory/operational reporting
- Prepare and maintain functional documentation (use cases, flows, high-level data models, business manuals)
- Define and validate acceptance criteria, assist in creating certification and business test cases, and participate in pilots with users/participants
- Facilitate continuous communication between the business and technical teams, helping clarify questions and manage expectations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or a related field
- Proven experience as a business analyst (required)
- Demonstrated experience as a business analyst, particularly in payments or mission-critical financial systems
- Experience producing clear functional specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with structured thinking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to adapt language for technical and business audiences
- Organized and meticulous documentation practices, with attention to detail and focus on traceability of decisions and requirements
- Collaborative mindset, team-oriented, and open to constructive feedback (giving and receiving)
- Comfortable working closely with Product Owner, developers, QA and operations
- Knowledge of solutions involving blockchains or digital wallets is a plus
- Working knowledge of data and integration (APIs, messaging, files) sufficient to communicate effectively with technical teams
- Familiarity with agile development practices (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, refinements, plannings, reviews, retros) and related tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
