About the role

  • Head of Post-Production leading and scaling post teams across Editorial, VFX, Color, and Motion Design at The Heist. In charge of workflows, pipelines, and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Post Production across Editorial, VFX, Color, Motion Design, and Finishing
  • Own Post Production workflows, pipelines, and technical standards across projects
  • Act as a Senior VFX artist and creative problem solver, supporting hands-on VFX work when needed and helping to expand our offering and grow our team
  • Execute and support traditional live action VFX tasks including cleanup, roto, compositing, conforming, and finishing utilize Flame or Nuke
  • Supervise VFX on select projects, including on set collaboration when required
  • Partner closely with Executive Producers, Producers, and Creative Directors to scope work, build schedules, and plan resourcing
  • Oversee staffing and capacity planning across full time, freelance, and vendor relationships
  • Ensure projects meet high creative and technical standards while staying on schedule and on budget
  • Guide teams through complex post schedules, versioning, and delivery requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, tools, and processes across post
  • Mentor and develop post production talent, fostering a collaborative and sustainable team culture
  • Stay current on industry tools, workflows, and emerging technology, bringing thoughtful innovation into the studio
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for post production on select client projects

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in post production, including leadership responsibility
  • Strong hands-on background as a VFX artist working on live action commercial or branded content
  • Demonstrated experience with Flame and or Nuke as a primary VFX tool
  • Deep understanding of VFX pipelines, editorial workflows, and finishing processes
  • Proven experience building and managing post production teams and pipelines
  • Solid understanding of scheduling, resourcing, and budgeting for post production
  • Experience working closely with creative and production teams in a fast paced studio environment
  • Clear communicator who can bridge creative intent with technical execution
  • Calm, solutions focused approach when navigating tight timelines and changing priorities
  • Experience working directly with senior clients and stakeholders is a plus
