About the role
- Senior Identity Engineer responsible for design and implementation of IAM solutions at Standard Life. Leading complex integrations and providing technical guidance within the Group Identity & Access Management team.
Responsibilities
- Design and hands‑on implementation of enterprise‑wide IAM solutions.
- Lead by example on complex application onboarding and identity integrations, owning the most challenging technical work.
- Build, enhance and maintain workflows, connectors and automation supporting identity lifecycle processes.
- Configure, optimise and troubleshoot IAM platforms, particularly Saviynt and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Act as a senior technical escalation point, diagnosing complex issues and driving sustainable fixes.
- Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership, supporting design reviews, implementation approaches and engineering standards.
- Work closely with architecture and security teams to ensure identity solutions meet strategic, regulatory and security expectations.
- Contribute to identity governance standards, patterns and technical documentation.
- Support audit and regulatory activity through strong technical controls and clear evidence.
- Mentor and coach engineers through hands‑on support, knowledge sharing and constructive challenge.
Requirements
- Strong hands‑on experience engineering IAM solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- Deep understanding of authentication, access governance and identity lifecycle management.
- Practical, hands‑on experience with Saviynt and Microsoft Entra ID (or equivalent product sets).
- Proven ability to operate as a senior technical lead while remaining delivery‑focused.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience owning complex technical problems end‑to‑end.
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, ISF Standard of Good Practice).
