About the role

  • Achieve development targets (in MW/MWh) across the geographies concerned by storage development (France, Spain, the Netherlands and additional countries to come), including: securing land; defining and securing grid connection strategies; and obtaining associated planning permissions.
  • Implement storage projects in all their aspects: lead the modelling required for sizing (load profiles, energy consumption, various techno‑economic studies, etc.) and for defining the business plan in collaboration with the Investment Department.
  • Define, monitor and optimise project budgets (CAPEX and OPEX) for the storage component in collaboration with Studies and Procurement teams, including leading supplier negotiations and establishing direct contacts with cell manufacturers.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts for monetising the constructed assets on energy markets, in coordination with our aggregators.
  • Oversee construction and commissioning of assets in collaboration with the project management teams, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
  • Monitor and take accountability for asset performance, with support from Asset Management and Operation & Maintenance teams.
  • Identify optimisations for existing assets and explore new opportunities in France and internationally, in collaboration with International teams.
  • Manage the storage teams and lead support teams on technical matters with various stakeholders (suppliers, technical advisors, consultants, aggregators, market experts, grid operators, PV developers, etc.) during project follow-up before and throughout execution and operation.
  • Contribute to development and improvement initiatives while continuing to strengthen the business unit’s competencies: develop new technological solutions and business models; participate in strategic and market positioning studies and in various techno‑economic analyses; conduct regulatory and technology watch on storage solutions (meet suppliers, attend trade shows and industry events); implement storage activity reporting to group bodies (Asset Management, Executive Committee); and contribute to continuous improvement of tools, best practices and internal skills.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with significant experience in energy storage (developers, renewable energy producers, utilities in particular).
  • Proven experience in team management and in developing new business activities, with a global vision and the ability to implement a strategic plan.
  • Fluency in English to work in an international environment.
  • Curiosity, autonomy and a passion for technical topics and innovation in the energy sector, with an understanding of business challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with senior-level counterparts.
  • Strong negotiation skills and mastery of contractual discussions and related issues.
