About the role

  • Climate Risk Intern developing adaptation and resilience solutions across various climates and hazards. Engaging in research, client interactions, and product development within Swiss Re's Climate Risk Services team.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the development of adaptation and resilience solutions across multiple hazards and geographies
  • Supporting research and analysis of adaptation measures, including assessment of ROI and risk mitigation impacts
  • Contributing to the enhancement of our climate risk reporting framework by integrating diverse data sources into client-ready outputs leveraging AI solutions
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine methodologies and improve existing solutions
  • Engaging with clients to gather feedback, validate concepts and support product–market fit

Requirements

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in civil engineering, natural sciences, computational sciences, or a related technical field
  • Strong understanding of physical climate risks, resilience strategies and adaptation planning
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to physical climate risk is an asset
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills (Python proficiency)
  • Experience with AI tools such as AI Report Builder
  • Structured, self-driven and solution-oriented working style
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
