About the role
- Director of Portfolio Strategy & Analytics at SLC Management managing investment strategies and portfolio optimization for institutional investors. Collaborating across teams to advance SLC's insurance asset management value proposition and drive efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve our proprietary Portfolio Optimization framework tailored to insurance balance sheets
- Establish and maintain consistent risk/return assumptions and governance globally
- Partner with various teams to align portfolio construction with liability characteristics
- Support Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) discussions for the General Account
- Drive engagement with public fixed income trading and portfolio management desks
- Support performance assessment frameworks for Sun Life insurance portfolios
- Drive synergies between Asset Management and Insurance
- Act as a central coordination point for evaluating new alternative strategies
- Support the Office of the Chief Investment Officer
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in investment strategy / asset management or a related field
- Deep and comprehensive understanding of modern portfolio theory, asset pricing, and risk management
- Exceptional communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of broad asset classes and a working knowledge of Sun Life's liability profiles (a distinct advantage)
- Proven track record in delivering innovative, industry-leading solutions
- Proficiency in utilizing financial tools and software, such as Bloomberg, BlackRock Aladdin, or Morningstar Direct (a plus)
- University degree in Finance, Business, or Economics, with a CFA designation (or equivalent) preferred
