About the role

  • IT Administrator ensuring stable IT operations and supporting Second-Level-Support for a global production company. Engaging in infrastructure projects and maintaining system security and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure operations: Ensuring a stable and secure IT infrastructure (servers, storage, virtualization) as well as continuous system updates and patch management
  • Second-level support: Providing second-level support for complex incidents, including structured root-cause analysis and sustainable problem resolution within the business unit
  • Automation & documentation: Automating recurring tasks (e.g., using PowerShell) and maintaining clear documentation of configurations, standards and processes
  • Security & compliance: Implementing IT security and compliance requirements, including system vulnerability management and administration of access control/permission concepts
  • Project involvement & architecture: Actively participating in infrastructure projects (e.g., Exchange/M365 migrations, storage updates) and supporting strategic architecture decisions
  • Certificate management (PKI): Comprehensive management of certificates and certification authorities — from issuance and system integration to proactive lifecycle monitoring

Requirements

  • Relevant professional experience operating Windows infrastructures, Active Directory/Azure AD, DNS/DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
  • Solid knowledge of virtualization (e.g., VMware), storage systems, networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, VLAN, routing, firewalling), and monitoring
  • Routine in automation and scripting (PowerShell), and experienced use of ticketing and ITSM systems (Incident/Change/Problem management)
  • Sense of responsibility and service orientation — you remain calm, solution-focused and reliable even in critical situations
  • Team player with clear communication — able to explain complex issues clearly and work in a structured way
  • Business-fluent German and good command of English
  • Advantageous: M365/Exchange certifications, experience with endpoint management (e.g., Intune, ACMP), email security gateways, backup solutions (e.g., Synology), and basic Linux knowledge
