About the role
- BI Engineer responsible for data warehouse and BI development at a family-owned company. Collaborative role ensuring data quality and implementing governance principles in Saterland, Germany.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the data warehouse and business intelligence.
- Configure, administer, maintain and further develop the data warehouse in close cooperation with the IT department.
- Further develop the enterprise-wide data architecture, including implementing data governance principles.
- Analyze, gather and refine requirements for data use cases.
- Design, implement and monitor robust ETL jobs.
- Continuously monitor data quality in the data warehouse using available tools.
- Perform performance analyses and optimize cross-system processes in the DWH/Business Intelligence environment.
- Continuously document data models and data contents.
Requirements
- Solid knowledge and strong analytical skills.
- A solid education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a comparable qualification.
- Experience as a Data Engineer and in building, maintaining and evolving ETL processes is an advantage.
- Confident use of common SQL, visualization, and ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, optionally Apache Airflow or SSAS).
- Experience in database administration for systems such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL, IBM DB2 for i, Progress, or similar.
- Analytical, structured working style combined with strong communication skills.
