About the role

  • Lead global business development initiatives focused on enterprise payments for Stellar network. Drive strategic partnerships, expand payment corridors, and support market growth.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, source, and close partnerships with enterprise payment players, including banks, MTOs, PSPs, corporates, fintechs, BaaS platforms, and stablecoin issuers.
  • Create and manage a global pipeline of high-value opportunities that drive payment volume and long-term ecosystem growth.
  • Lead negotiation of strategic commercial and technical partnerships.
  • Expand Stellar-enabled payment corridors in priority regions (e.g., LatAm, APAC, Africa, Middle East, North America, EU).
  • Analyze regional payment dynamics and tailor go-to-market approaches to local regulatory and economic environments.
  • Support ecosystem partners (anchors, wallets, fintech builders) as they expand into new markets.
  • Translate partner needs into actionable product requirements; collaborate with product, engineering, and ecosystem teams to ensure successful implementations.
  • Provide partners with guidance on integrating Stellar rails, payment APIs, compliance tools, and stablecoin infrastructure.
  • Champion the value proposition of Stellar as a global payments network through educational sessions, workshops, and relationship building.
  • Work with SDF leadership to shape strategy for enterprise payments, anchor expansion, and institutional adoption.
  • Develop data-driven business cases to guide investment, prioritization, and strategic decisions.
  • Partner with legal, finance, compliance, and policy teams to navigate regulatory considerations in global markets.
  • Represent SDF at industry events, conferences, and high-level partner meetings.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in payments, fintech, banking, cross-border remittances, or enterprise SaaS BD.
  • Demonstrated ability to close complex enterprise partnerships in global markets.
  • Strong understanding of payment flows, correspondent banking, FX, settlement, compliance, and regulatory environments.
  • Proven experience managing multi-region initiatives and navigating diverse market needs.
  • Comfortable working with technical teams and discussing APIs, integrations, and product flows.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with blockchain, stablecoins, on-chain payments, or Web3 financial infrastructure (preferred).
  • Prior work with MTOs, PSPs, B2B payments companies, or major fintechs (preferred).
  • Knowledge of emerging markets payments and infrastructure challenges (preferred).
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed (preferred).
